Who am I? What generation did I grow with and who are the people in my generation? Decades from now, how will people define my generation? 50 years from now, how will people define me? Who am i ?
My name is Demetrius Elijah Isaiah Johnson.
Growing up, I always had a chip on my shoulder. My number 1 goal was to change my Mom and my two older brothers' lives because they raised me. So, me wanting to pursue media production, being from Vallejo, a small town in the Bay Area. Choosing to travel down to San Diego State, not knowing anyone, simply is me pursuing the dream to bring back the knowledge to Vallejo. All of my life, I wanted to make a difference, that is all I care about, helping people, that's what I'm passionate about. For me, being able to do it through a camera lens or on a mic, is truly the art of expression. Now that I have graduated from San Diego State, and I have received my Bachelor's degree in Film, Television, and New Media Production. I'm ready to bring the knowledge back to Vallejo, so the kids, younger generation, my generation and people overall, can have a platform to do something positive which is creating art.
Not too many people where I am from believe things like this can happen, but I believe everything is possible. I want to build artists in the Vallejo community, showing them, there is a better way than what they see, which is the "streets." Telling stories, expressing themselves through art and not violence. There are so many plans I have and I'll do whatever it takes to accomplish them for my family, the people in my community, and all the inspiring artists in the Bay Area.
